Ice Skates
Most manufactures offer figure skates that size the same as sneakers. Beginners should start with a pre-assemble set with a moderately stiff boots for better ankle support. Intermediate students should buy boots and blades sold separately for a more custom fit. Make sure to measure with both feet incase one foot is bigger then the other and consider the thickness of your sock
Tip- make sure to lace boots firmly with most of lace pressure at the top of the boot.

Figure Skates

A well constructed figure skate will be made from leather, have a lot of ankle support, padded tongue and stainless steel blade. The blade will be screwed onto the boot. Sharp triangular ripples will make up the front of the blade. This is known as the pick and is used for tricks like jumping. New skates are always sold unsharpened.
