Experience
I have played piano since childhood, first studying classical music, then jazz and composition with a number of stellar teachers in Philadelphia and New York City, including Jimmy Giuffre, Frank Wigglesworth, Roland Hanna, and Sheila Paige. After graduating from Temple University, I pursued further musical studies at the Dalcroze School of Music in New York City and Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia. I am a Pennsylvania certified music teacher, and I taught music in Philadelphia public Schools for over 13 years. I have taught piano and worked as a musician for over 30 years. My activities have included performing with jazz ensembles and klezmer groups, accompanying classical, jazz, pop, and ethnic singers, collaborating with dancers, poets, and an improvisational theater group, and composing numerous songs.
I currently perform music programs for children and concerts of original solo piano arrangements for general audiences, in addition to working as a free-lance pianist and
teaching piano privately.
